Entertaining and a fast enjoyable read. Follows a predictable pattern but has some twists thrown in for fun. Over all I enjoyed it.
I love these books soooo much! I first read them years ago in paperback from a library and I'm so glad I found them in digital.
Not everything is black and white in this story, people are multifaceted with complicated relationships and there are so many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of you seat (or deck chair!). Even though I vaguely remember what happened I couldn't put it down (bags under my eyes for work the next day)
The Star of the Guardians series is my most favorite series of books ever. I read them back in early high school and have re-read them about 100 times sense. If you love sci-fi, philosophy, history or any combination of the above, you will love these books. I was so excited to see them newly on kindle, waiting for volumes 3 and 4 to come out soon!

I love classic literature, and each chapter of the book starts with quotes from some of the best, as well as many other sources. It is a truly classic story, a great sleeper I wish everyone in the world could know about and I dearly wish they would make movies from them (or maybe not, sometimes great books get ruined this way). I think non-sci-fi fans would love these as well because the story is so much more.

It takes place in what I like to think of as a future many hundreds if not thousands of years from now, earth has nothing to do with the plot but some small references connect it to home. When I was younger I found myself relating to young Dion, in his true coming of age story. Now here I am many years later at 32, learning to find a connection to the other two leads in the story, star crossed lovers who find that the fear and anger that separated them 17 years before, may separate them again.

Honestly I can't do these books justice, it's an epic story with battles, politics, love, deception, friendship, and philosophy all thrown into one and it's splendid. Just read the first few chapters, I promise you won't wan to stop reading!
These books are very different from other books Weis has written. I like to think it's because he/she was left on their own and didn't have a co-writter.

They are simply brilliant. I adore them. They do mirror starwars in some ways, but to me these charachters are completly different.

I can't really think of a good way to explain it, I myself am not a very good writter. These books are DEEP and wonderful.

I read them when 20 and now 7 years later i think I have read them each atleast 5 times. I simply adore these books.
Read this a long time ago and wanted to revisit it. From one half of the writing team of the Dragonlance books. Margaret Weis is a very descriptive writer who makes you feel lime you are there.
I was a fan of Weis and Hickman from reading the dragonlance novels, and when I saw The Lost King in a used book store with Margaret Weis's name on it I bought it without hesitation. From the very first I was hooked, but then despaired when I returned to the used book store and could find no other books in the series. Fast forward a few months and Mom gets me a kindle for Christmas and guess what my first few purchases were?

I love every character, in the first book I couldn't get enough of Tusk and XJ but by the last the dark tragic warlord Derek Sagan is my obsession.

Highly reccomend for anyone that loves either sci-fi, fantasy or both!
I read this book almost 20 years again and recently decided to read the series again. I've discovered that so many books don't hold up for me but this is an exception to that rule. Honestly a great book that gets better as you go. It's like a Star Wars with deeper characters. Great book!
